I’m Coco Moore.. highly sought out Luxury Makeup Artist at Coco Moore Makeup Artistry & the owner of The Beauty Room 205, located in Birmingham, Al.

I started my self taught journey into makeup by doing makeup on one of my closest friends to help her through a rough patch in life, and soon after it became something like therapy to have the outlet that makeup artistry was for me. As time went by, my friends and family would often ask me to do their brows, eye shadow or match foundation for them, but I never thought it could be a job or career so I just let it be my safe space from the real world when I needed an escape.

In June 2012, I started balancing working in the beginning stages of my “hobby” with trying to stay motivated at my 9-5. Over the course of about 3 years, I started taking my artistry more serious and began training with and under professional local & world renowned makeup experts. In that time, I successfully jumped into the beginning stages of building my brand, and established myself as one of Alabama’s go-to Bridal & Beauty Makeup Artists, and the tug on my heart to put my all into my brand & passion grew stronger every day. I remember finally walking away from corporate America & pursuing the dreams I never even knew I had of being a full time Makeup Artist & business owner.. That leap of faith opened doors I never imagined possible, and has easily been one of the most fulfilling decisions I have ever made!

My warm personality, zest for life & and positive energy is incredibly contagious, and helps me to leave an impression on the lives of every client who sits in my chair. Not only do I love to enhance their outer beauty, but it is my hope that each of them leaves feeling a million times better than when they came in, as well. My passion for what most people think is “just makeup” is so much deeper to me, and during each makeup (therapy) session, my clients help me dive deeper into my purpose. My clients are truly my inspiration and the smiles on their face after they look in the mirror after our session fuel my creativity, and my passion for makeup artistry. Being able to be such a positive source of empowerment & light through my talent & gift from God is what keeps me going, and it makes me feel so good to know I am making a difference in the lives of each person who comes into my presence. I want my clients to not only look stunning, but for them to feel gorgeous from within. Confidence is the most beautiful part of a woman and being a part of that process is exactly why I love what I do.

Because of this passion, my brand has grown tremendously over the last 7 years! I have provided thousands of bridal & beauty services, worked with some of the most talented photographers, mentored other MUAs and beauty entrepreneurs, taught makeup classes to all who want to learn, and hosted events centered around beauty, positivity & women. In 2018, I opened the Coco Moore Makeup Studio, and what was supposed to be a small space just for me and my clients quickly grew to be the home of many other beauty professionals, now named The Beauty Room. In 2019, I launched my line of cosmetics, apparel and other products and I also started the online beauty community, Coco Moore’s Beauty Room, a positive & safe space for women to come for beauty conversation, inspiration & education.

I have successfully established myself as a professional business owner & luxury artist with an extensive & always growing clientele, and I am most proud of my journey. My life revolves around working with high profile clients and organizations, being recognized for excellence, joining with some amazing businesses for community service & being being published in print & online. My business has grown because of my amazing clients, other talented vendors & their referrals, & my faithfulness to God.. this is my life & I am forever thankful.

Who would have thought that what started as my personal therapy would turn evolve into what is today known as Coco Moore Makeup?!

On a more personal note..

Everyone calls me Coco, but I am formally Shecovia Dismuke Moore. I’m a self proclaimed foodie, girly girl & serial journaler, born & raised in Birmingham, AL. I enjoy traveling, mani/pedis, trying new restaurants & spending time with my family & friends. DIY projects, being around positive people & reading make me happy, and I Facebook marketplace & makeup shop in my spare time. My guilty pleasures are ice cream, pretty perfumes & decorative candles and I am a sucker for intellectual and never-ending conversation. I am passionate about makeup artistry, inspiring women & young girls, and teaching people what I know, and if it’s His will, I’ll retire doing just that!
